The. Rain. Never. Ends!

This is how flooded the streets were in the morning at 9:00am (about 3 inches of water)
These cars are drowning in about 6 inches of water!
Around 1:30pm these cars were drowning in about 6 inches of water!
This is supposed to be a crosswalk....but it's clearly a little wet.

HAY. MUCHO. POR. LA. LLUVIA.

THERE. IS. SO. MUCH. RAIN.

When it rains here you better bundle up in all the waterproof clothes you can! Since I did not have rain boots this morning I wore my flip-flops to school. People thought I was crazy! But there was just so much water I didn’t want to soak my gym shoes or ruin my boots! I was wading through water up to mid-calf all day. As a result, I had to buy rain boots this afternoon because I was walking through RIVERS of water. It was terrible. It is kind of like what happens when Tucson gets monsoons and the streets flood. Here in Vina, they also do not have a drainage system, like in Tucson, so the water collects in low places which usually are in the crosswalks. If you aren’t careful, cars will drench you in water as they drive by. The main difference between Tucson monsoons and Vina rain is that in Vina it rains for hours! It started raining last night around midnight and it hasn’t stopped raining since. I am definitely bummed since this is my first weekend in Vina and it is pouring. I am not sure how to explore the city with this much water everywhere! I guess it will be an adventure. ¡Hasta mañana!

  1. welcome to the real world that gives to obstacles to overcome each day. You seem to be dealing with the obstacles. Good Job.
    PS
Just send the bill for those rain boots to your dad, I am sure he would gladly pay for rain boots instead of buying a new pair of cowgirl boots.
